House Full Signs Go Up at Princes Theatre

Full House

The House Full signs will be up at Clacton's Princes Theatre next week as top comedian Jimmy Carr arrives in town.

The show was virtually a sell-out in less than seven hours of tickets going on sale last September - however, there is now just one single seat available!

The Princes Theatre, which is run by Tendring District Council (TDC), allocated a number of tickets to the Essex Live Website and they were snapped up within just five minutes along with a second allocation.

Melissa Diplock, TDC's Theatre and Entertainments Manager for Marketing, said: "We are looking forward to a packed theatre and there is just one seat left if anyone wants it."

Carr, who has a made a name for himself in television, radio and film will be appearing at the Princes on Friday February 17.

It will be part of his Gagging Order warm-up tour and he will try out new material for his forthcoming tour in a show which will last around an hour.

Carr, whose TV work includes 8 Out of 10 Cats, The Big Fat Quiz of the Year and 10 O'Clock Live, appeared at the Princes Theatre for the first time in June 2008 when his two shows also sold out.

Liverpudlian funny man Ken Dodd, who is appearing at the Princes later this year, is also proving a major draw.

There are less than 100 tickets left for his one-nighter on July 7 in the 820-seat venue.

The show is part of the 84-year-old's Ken Dodd Happiness Tour.

Anyone wanting tickets or details of future shows should ring the box office on 01255 686633 or go to TDC's website www.tendringdc.gov.uk

Tickets can also be obtained online at www.essex-live
