Youngsters from across Tendring have been recognised for their
outstanding achievements over the past year.
Career Track learners celebrated their efforts in 2011 when they
were presented with certificates by Tendring District Council (TDC)
Chairman Alan Goggin.
All the learners have been undertaking an apprenticeship or have
gained a qualification during the past 12 months and there were
further accolades for those who have made a significant
contribution to the workplace over that period.
Cllr Goggin praised and congratulated all those who have
achieved success on the scheme.
"These young people truly are the future of Tendring and we are
really proud of them," he said.
"I thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with them for this special
ceremony and I am sure they will all do well in the future. I wish
them the best in whatever they choose to do.
"Career Track has given them the foundations to build on and I
sure it has put them on the right path in life. It is very
important that we ensure our residents have the knowledge and
skills to secure good employment."
Cllr Goggin also thanked Work Based Learning Manager Debianne
Messenger for all her on-going hard work to ensure that Career
Track is so outstandingly successful.
There was further praise for the support and commitment of the
supervisors, managers, Career Track assessors and the admin
team.
Career Track provides work-based learning opportunities in
administration and customer service to 16 plus year olds who are
employed by TDC or by businesses in and around the District.
It is operated through the BCT (Braintree, Colchester, and
Tendring), a partnership of 10 providers.
If any young person or employer wants further information on
Career Track they should contact 01255 686311.
