The Corporate Strategy is an important document that sets
out our vision and priorities for the future.
When creating the Corporate Strategy we look at both the
pressures and demands facing the Council and also the issues that
are in theTendring Sustainable Community Strategy.
The Corporate Strategy then feeds down into other Council plans
and policies, in particular the plans for each service. Service
plans, in turn, then feed into the individual targets and plans for
each employee.
We approved our current Corporate Strategy in 2004 and it looks
ahead to 2011. Each year, we check the Corporate Strategy to make
sure that it reflects the needs of the district as we recognise
that things change very quickly. For example, there might be new
national legislation affecting local government or specific needs
and priorities within the district may have changed.
We have decided that it will be time to review our Corporate
Strategy in the Autumn/Winter of 2008 as there is now:
- a new White Paper for Local Government
- a new Tendring Sustainable Community Strategy
- a new initiative to regenerate the district called
Project
Tendring
- changes to the National Performance Framework
