Sale of Land at Main Road, Dovercourt, Essex (Pre tender details)

(Tender period ended 7 December 2006)

Tendring District Council is the owner of the property at Main Road, Dovercourt, Essex, comprising around 0.6Ha of land. The Cabinet considered the tenders received for this land on 24 January 2007 and decided to reject all bids received. We are now considering a range of possible future options for the retention or disposal of the land. The tender documents are available below purely as further historic information for interested parties and are no longer valid for their original purpose.

The front part of the site is currently used as a free car park and a small Friday Market.

There is also an electricity substation and mobile telephone mast on land partially surrounded by the disposal site and a right of way across the disposal site to it.

Part of the site had been an isolation hospital and other parts were once a Utilities depot and then a Council depot. Part of the site is fenced off and the buildings upon it have mostly been demolished. Some of these contained asbestos and were removed by a registered contractor. As there was believed to be some further potential for contamination an environmental audit has been completed.
