A major retailer, that has an option agreement on part of the adjacent Martello caravan
site, has requested the disposal of part of the Council's land in order to provide improved
access to the Martello site to facilitate its redevelopment for retail use and a possible
Doctors' surgery and residential development in later phases.

The existing access to the site is unsuitable for the proposed redevelopment and the revision of the access would be necessary for the proposed retail development and future redevelopment in the later phases.
