Tendring District Council owns and manages a range of
assets including its own office buildings, leisure centres, council
housing and other facilities. The Council also owns areas of open
space and play areas.
The Council defines its approach to the management of these
assets in its
Asset Management Plan 2008/2009
The way that Councils use and manage the assets that they own is
of increasing importance as it is a way of generating funding for
investment in projects and services. Tendring District Council has
an active asset management function that seeks to make the best use
of assets, including disposing of assets where they are surplus to
requirements and any receipts (which must first go into a central
capital fund) could be put into major schemes.
