The Tendring Local Strategic Partnership
The Tendring Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) is a voluntary
partnership that brings together the public, private and voluntary
sector agencies responsible for providing services across the
District to improve our quality of life.
The aim of the LSP is to create the environment in which various
services and initiatives support one another and work together to
improve the quality of life in the Tendring District.
The LSP operates at the strategic level and is yet close enough
to individual neighbourhoods to allow actions to be decided at the
community level.
The LSP allows decision making to be co-ordinated between all
those responsible for service provision within its boundaries. It
provides a forum to draw key service providers into a single body.
Importantly, it allows the communities within the authority's
boundary to work together with key agencies.
The Strategic Board of the LSP meets four times a year. The
Strategic Board oversees the strategic direction of the LSP.
Theme Partner meetings are held quarterly, two weeks prior to
the Strategic Board meeting, and it is here that the strategies are
broken down into individual actions plans for delivery of the
strategies' aims. You can find out more about the strategy on the
Community Strategy web page.
An annual Stakeholders' event is held to which are invited a
wide range of people and interested bodies, e.g. service providers,
voluntary sector groups, schools and colleges, religious bodies,
business people and members of the public.

To make sure that the Tendring LSP is working as well as it can,
a "peer challenge" of the partnership was carried out during Spring
2008. A peer challenge acts as a critical friend to compare
Tendring's LSP against an "ideal" LSP to see where improvements can
be made. The
final report of the peer challenge is available to download
here [PDF 262kb].
