| Benefits - Notes for Private
Tenants |
|
From 7th April 2008 the Government introduced another
scheme of calculating Housing Benefit for private tenants called
Local Housing Allowance.
However the following tenants will continue to be calculated
under the old Housing Benefit rules:
- Council Tenants
- Tenants of Registered Social Landlord tenancies (Housing
Associations)
- Tenants who live in hostels, houseboats, mobile homes or
caravans
- Tenants whose tenancy begun before 1989
- Tenants whose rent includes a substantial element of board and
lodging
