This is a national welfare benefit to help people on low incomes who live in council owned property to pay their rent.

Amount of Benefit Payable

The amount of benefit you receive will depend on your personal circumstances, such as:

  • Whether you share the liability with someone other than your partner
  • The amount of your income and savings
  • The amount that the government says you need to live on
  • Whether you have any other adults living with you ( non-dependant)
