Social Media and Broadband Summit


On 18th October 2011 we hosted a Social Media and Broadband Summit in partnership with Business Link, Essex County Council and BT at the Princes Theatre which attracted over 120 delegates with its packed agenda.

Those attending the event were welcomed by Tendring District Council Leader, Neil Stock, heard an introduction to social media by Christian Bone, Partnership Director, Business Link East. Mary Lumkin, People and Behaviours Research team leader at BT then spoke about the business benefits of Social Media.

Jane O'Riordan of Jane Hamerton Ltd talked about how using Twitter has helped her website move from page 12 on Google to page 1 and generate extra orders for her business.

Social Media Workshops were followed by talks on the rollout of superfast broadband by Annette Thorpe, Regional Partnership Director of BT Group and Philip Wilson, Policy Manager at Essex County Council.
