Following the award of Government funding, a Town Centre Co-ordinator was appointed in March 2010 to cover all the key town centres in the District including Clacton, Walton, Frinton, Manningtree, Harwich, Dovercourt and Brightlingsea.

The Town Centre Co-ordinator will predominately work in the following areas:

• Assist in the promotion of each town centre
• Encourage and assist new local businesses to open in some of the empty shops in our high streets
• Develop new ways of increasing footfall in our towns
• Assist existing retailers with access to business support, training and development
• Develop partnerships with local businesses, Chambers and Business Associations
