Retail Grant Scheme

RETAIL GRANT SCHEME

Unfortunately this scheme has now finished as all the funding has been allocated

To assist our High Street retailers and with money given to the Council by the DCLG as well as those in our rural communities, Tendring District Council launched a Retail Grant scheme in July 2010.

The Council had a total of £30,000 to put towards the scheme which was run in conjunction with the Pop-Up shop initiative.

The grant was used towards shop windows, fascia signs and signage, painting, shop counters, web site development, security shutters to name but a few.

The grant was not available to national retailers and could not be used towards staffing costs, rents, rates or core management costs. All grants had to be match funded by the business. The minimum grant amount was £250 and the maximum was £2,000.

The scheme was open to all retailers (A1 categories only) operating within the Tendring District.
