Clacton appointed its first town centre manager from June
2007 to March 2009. Following the award of new funding, it is
expected that a new Town Centre Co-ordinator who will cover all
town centres in the District will be appointed in early
2010.
The overall long term aim is to have a well managed town centre
with an enhanced retail offer.
As part of the regeneration aspirations for Clacton, the Town
Centre Co-ordinator will work in the following areas:
- Promoting the town centre
- Broadening the retail offer
- Developing an individual shop improvement scheme
- Quality street markets
- Managing the environment
- Partnership development
- Project funding
- Monitoring and
evaluation.
