At its meeting on 26th March, the Council embarked on the
next stage of its exciting project to regenerate Tendring. The
Council agreed to establish Tendring Regeneration Ltd, a Local
Authority Not for Profit Company, to deliver regeneration projects
across the District to meet the objectives of
Project
Tendring.
The Company will trade under the name INTend (logo below) and
held its first board meeting on Wednesday 23rd April. The Directors
of the Company chose David Lines as the Chair of the Board and also
agreed to set up a website where all the up to date
information about the company, its projects and activities will be
made available to the public. The company is currently
recruting staff and further details can be found on the InTend
website.
The main business of the inaugural meeting was to put in place
all the various mechanisms that a limited company needs to be able
to operate legally.
TDC established the company to lead on its behalf and deliver
the major projects and the Directors agreed that INTend needs to
recruit specialised staff with particular expertise in project
delivery and these jobs will be advertised shortly. An external
funding officer will also be recruited who would not only help
secure funds for these major projects, but would also work closely
with local groups and organisations to help them put together bids
for funding from a range of sources - such as the Big Lottery
Fund.
