The main Acts of Parliament governing Hackney and Carriage and
Private Hire Licensing are:-
Town Police Clauses Act 1947; Local Government [Miscellaneous
Provisions] Act 1976; Transport Act 1985. There are several other
Acts that also have an effect on this type of licensing that are
