Licences, or Permits are required for a wide variety of activities and are dealt with by more than one Council Service.

The Licensing Section, which is part of Legal Services, deals with the following:-

• Licensing Act 2003 - (Alcohol, Entertainment, Takeaways open after 11pm)
• Hackney Carriage, Private Hire Driver and Private Hire Operator Licence
• Hackney Carriage, Private Hire Vehicle Licence
• Street Collection Permit
• House to House Collection Permit
• Gambling Act 2005
• Boat and/or Boatman Licence
• Street Trading
• Sex Establishment Licences

Also Available is the Public Register which is linked to Premises Licences under The Licensing Act 2003.
