The CDRP has recently conducted a Community Safety Survey. The
survey highlighted that people are claiming to have experienced less
crime and less anti-social behaviour.
However the
public continue to have a disproportionate fear of crime.
in response to the findings of the survey a number of initiatives
in the 2008 - 2011Partnership Plans are planned to address
the main crime and disorder priorities you highlighted in
the survey.
.
In July 1998 the Crime and Disorder Act came into force and created
Crime and Disorder reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) in England and
Wales. Tendring CDRP is a partnership between Tendring District
Council, Essex Police, the Police Authority, Essex County Council,
Tendring Primary Care Trust and Essex Fire and Rescue Service.
Every three
years, the Crime and Disorder Act requires CDRPs to carry
out an audit of crime, drug misuse, Anti-Social Behaviour
and disorder within the district, and prepare a Strategy to
reduce its incidence.

The Community Plan for Tendring, 'New Connections', provides a joint
vision for our District looking ahead over five years with an annual
rolling program of action. It charts how to recognise and respond to
the needs of the public and to influence the anticipated challenges
and opportunities facing the area based on co-operation between the
partners.
To improve the
quality of life in the District partners have agreed to work
together on nine key strategic themes. Community Safety is one of
those themes. In our multi-agency approach, co-operation and
information sharing between all the agencies of the partnership is
essential, if we are to achieve our objective to reduce the
incidence and fear of crime and disorder, and to make the area a
safer place to live.
